TeamUncool Fashion Likes: Melissa's shoes x Black Coffee 2011

While shooting backstage at SA Fashion Week last weekend, I came across some delicious (Literally, they where flavored) footware from Melissa's shoes . Great brand and I liked the doll with miniature shoe campaign.

They are also partnered with Vivienne Westwood which makes them even cooler.

Nice.

This video piece accompanied the Black Coffee Fashion House installation at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York; it subsequently travelled to the Iziko National Gallery of South Africa. The film explores a journey of mysticism and ritual as reflected within the Black Coffee collection, it requires dedication in viewing.

Team Uncool Fashion Loves: If the T-Shirt Fits Wear it (Blogger T)

Bradley Kirshenbaum owner and designer of Love Jozi T-shirts. The Johannesburg based T-Shirt label has come up with another great one. His new T-Shirt which has the words, 'No Body Reads Your Blog.' I found this one perfect and appropriate to be blogged about. According to him this was the biggest seller on his latest tour to Dusseldorf Germany for Fashion Week, where he sold his T-Shirts along side Black Coffee who where showing at the fashion week.

This range has been released under Bradley's secondary label, If The T-Shirt Fits Wear It.

– 12 minute Ankoku Butoh Performance

Undoing is a butoh performance series that explores modes of erasing the individual mind’s claim to the body. We pursue this radical point of erasure between object and subject in order to achieve a quality of emptiness. Once the individual has been eclipsed, the ego silenced, the body will be danced.

Counterpoint is a body of work that consciously re-engineers the aesthetic convention and function of the coat. The powdery romanticism of the palette and the unassuming comfort of the textiles find a counterpoint in the segmented construction of these inspired garments.
