Presentation Night @ PIC

Tonight was the Photographic Imaging College presentation night! Had a great deal of fun there!

Also won an Encouragement Award! Very surprised and happy!

Carbon Made

Well I thought that my Blog is not professional enough for my portfolio so i have decided to create a Carbonmade portfolio for my own work.

Indy Studios is a combination of my work with my business partner but in terms of an online portfolio for myself... carbon made is the place to be!

Check it out! New things coming soon!

Folio Presentation Ideas

Okay, so I realised that being my blog/folio for PIC i have not discussed my presentation ideas on here.
I have thought of many different ways to do it including these:

a catalogue

a book

Mounted on board

Magazine Form

I also thought about post cards, mounted on black card, framed, posters. I have thought about sizing and texts etc. also.

But I have found something that i want. Simple, reusable in the future, professional. Something that stands out a little, but is still regarded as clean cut and modern.

A presentation folder.

Mine will be a burgundy red. Nothing too loud but something that will attract attention. I am getting my name embossed down the front in silver to stand out somewhat.

There will be rings inside to ensure that my work doesn't get damaged, while in transport from place to place.
Great for my commercial work, easy to view and flip through too.
It is going to be A3, and depending on how many images im comfortable presenting it still may have more than one image printed on a sheet of paper.
I do want to have one A3 piece of paper to be a series. But mainly I want one sheet per image.
I may look into a more magazine style layout to demonstrate my desires to one day shoot for magazines.

High Key Shoot

Photographer: Me
Model: Natasha Juravic
Make Up: Jyoti Chandra
Camera: Canon 5D Mark II

This shoot didnt end up entirely as high key as i did not want it as extreme however the lighting set up was as you would set up for high key.
I tried a couple of variations in photoshop in regards to color and tones but i found that with this particular shoot i did want black and white as i wanted to create an attitude in the set.

A Stolen Moment

Scanned these last week or the week before. It was when i had to be in shepp for personal reasons.

As i cant say what they were, this was straight after we dealt with what we had to, so it was a very emotional time for us all. This is that moment.

black & white neg scans

Just a couple more scans i have done. My internet connection is really bad, been trying to upload them half the day! so im giving up at 3. Taking way too long.

KODAK slide film colour scans

These are the KODAK negative slide film scans. I found this roll of film in my mums fridge and decided to sneak it into my camera to see the difference between slide colour and normal colour. Big differences!

Behind the scene!

Some shots from the last two shoots i have had this week of behind the scene! =)

Image & Text

These two shots are for my image and text assignment for ART. Just wanted something really plain and simple.

A lot of people tell me that this image reminds them of something NIKE would do. So i thought... WHY NOT!!

I had to use this image for something! it just cracks me up! and most likely anyone else who knows this strange lad.

Silhouette

Did this shoot yesterday. Wanted this to be a lot of fun. No set poses in mind and these two came out amazing! I was only intended to have one but i love both of them.

We tried a lot of different poses and costumes to create different shapes and fluidity through jumps, dancing and ridged poses.

Mens Suit Shoot

Model: Wil R
Camera: Canon 40D

Shot these last wednesday. Really wanted to have fun with this shoot. I wanted it to be fun and portray a 'feel good' effect. i wanted to try out some blurred shots too which i feel works with the set really well.

I also wanted to convert all the images to black and white. and let them all have harsh dramatic and interesting lighting.
