in fact I might say I have been known to do just this-

who wouldn't love this World of Granite Chanel.
I do love the Jumpsuit- another thing I used to love, wear, and look good in-however little of the 80's other than that do I wish to see return.
I did save one.
It's black.
but- it's tiny.It was the 80's after all.

I recently remarked to a friend how I hated-and didn't we All (girls) -when on occasion my mother sent me off to school in a dress and long pants.
It was cold. It was rainy. You have to wear them today.
now here I stand wearing that very thing. I love it. I seem to put pants on every time I put on a dress. Maybe I am too old for it now-I mean I am not a 5 year old anymore.
But, I think it was Me all the time.

Chanel Paris-Byzance, a magnificent collection
It was "The Thousand and One Nights - Arabian Nights" in the salons of the legendary Chanel rue Cambon, Paris. Outside the traditional calendar of ready-to-wear and haute-couture, the defile of Chanel "Metiers d'Arts" pays tribute each year to the exceptional expertise of 7 workshops bought by Chanel in 1997, houses of Lesage, Desrues, Lemarie, Michel, Massaro, Goossens and Guillet whose craftsmanship excels in embroidery, leather goods and adornments. After Paris-Los Angeles in 2006, Paris-London 2007, Paris-Moscow 2008, and Paris-Shanghai in 2009, Karl Lagerfeld presents this year Paris-Byzantium.
This time, the Empress Theodora from the early 6th century was Lagerfeld's creative muse. "She was a former circus performer before she became Empress," says the designer, comparing her unusual destiny to Coco Chanel' who sang in cafes before she became the Empress of the fashion world.
Inspired by the "remnants of Ravenna" and the greatness of this "lost civilization," the collection Paris-Byzance was also inspired by London in the 1960s, the designer added with humor.
The show was held last night, in the ultimate setting of the Chanel maison mere, in a room specially decorated for this event; Ottoman style, with walls covered with copper sequins, benches with many cushions and low tables ornate with mosaics.

Subway Subsidies & Gap's New Logo
With the MTA’s financial woes in the news, here’s what occurred to me while on the Long Island Railroad platform the other day. Why should the MTA promote the Gap every time someone steps onto a train? WATCH THE GAP could easily be WATCH THE SPACE or WATCH THE CHASM. But since the word "GAP" is in use, why doesn't the company just sponsor the MTA signage and have their logo seen every time someone steps onto a train? Imagine how favorably we would all think of the company that saved us from another fare hike.
And the timing is perfect--I just read that the Gap is changing their logo to Helvetica! And black!!!
Or Subway (the sandwich concern) subsidizing the entrances? That has got to be a no-brainer.

Team Uncool Loves: Chanel Faux-Fur 2010 on Kristen Mcmenamy in Dazed 88
After reading the new Dazed issue this month (88), I came accross the shoot with Kristen Mcmenamy shot by Tierney Gearon. What really sparked my interest was the shot with her wearing the Faux-Fur pants and Jacket by Chanel. This was an amazing way of shooting the Karl Lagerfeld creation. If anyone can make strange look amazing, its definately Kristen Mcmenamy.
